David Medalla at the Zap Club
On the 17 October 1987 (the day after the Great Storm of 1987), as part of a performance art season at the Zap Club in Brighton, David Medalla and Brian Morgan presented a performance entitled The Dream of Don Piranha under the advertised title of The Heist Man Comet (a shot in the dark).
The Audience were invited to “bring cameras, snapshots, 35mm, video, super 8 and become involved in an international project”.
Finding my negative somewhat underexposed and unable to make prints of sufficient quality, they rested, unused, in my files until I was able to scan then and produce the photographs digitally. The process enabled me to manipulate the tonal elements to a degree that, at last, proved satisfactory.
